Thanks for that! So, when is the best/safest time to contact the MP in my husband's area? I mean, only if the 14th month has already lapsed?

I don't think MP will be much help if still within posted processing times.
MP will probably give you same song and dance CIC would. Still within processing time , so nothing can be done.

I agree with Step. Wait until the 15th month before asking your MP to inquire. Mine told me that CEM won't even return their emails if the application is within current processing times.

I would like to know that answer too, supposed to be processed in order of receipt.
But I suppose it could be, some applications are more straight forward than some.
No rhyme or reason to how this process works. Have seen a few applications take forever, when they should'nt have.

Step
Step,

Yes, I would like to know this too. For example, I can't understand how applications received in 2013 are getting their COPRs BEFORE applications received in 2012 or later. It makes my blood boil to know that there are people who are getting on with their lives while my wife and I, along with others like us, have to wait until God knows when.

This is the reply that I received from my MP's office.

Thank you for your email. We have faxed an enquiry to the Ministerial Enquiries Unit in Ottawa. They have access to the overseas files and we are hoping to get more information through that avenue. As soon as we hear back we will be in contact with you again.

Let's see what happens.

JRPW was wondering which VO your application was sent to at the start? Was it Manila or other?

Manila. We applied outland. After the VOs in Tokyo and Seoul were closed, all Japanese and Korean applicants go through Manila.

Ok, thought maybe your app. was originally at another VO then transferred after VO closed.
But at Manila originally , so they have no excuse.

Is this 14 months that they have posted for their time to complete an artificially set time line? It still doesn't explain why some are getting theirs in 6 months and others over 14 months. And with all the recent closures to VO's in Japan and Korea, does anyone know if the CEM was allocated with more resources to help them with the burden of more applications to process?

80% of cases completed within 14 months.
20% might only take 6 months.
40%8 months a so on.
I know sort of a stupid way to track.
I really doubt any more resources were added, but not sure.

This is what I would like to know. The vast majority of applicants getting their visa before 14 months (6-8) are Filipino. Japanese and Korean applicants seem to be the ones in the bottom 20% (14 months or longer). This is what I don't understand.

Who are you sponsoring and from what country? Korea or Japan?

My wife is Japanese. There are Canadians married to Japanese on this forum who have the same timeline, or longer, as my wife and I.
