Regarding the bring forward dates.....I really don't understand what needs processing when the medical is received.....I mean there is literally just a check box for good and no good.....

So I'd expect the 2 week mark after medical has been done + 1 week for generation and courier of COPR.

BTW.....don't forget to cc the cem medical department on that email string...they have to know that you've been fast tracked, so that when they receive the data they won't sit on it....maybe forward them a copy of the email stating you've been fast tracked.

This is assuming the results will go to the same place even though you didn't need a full medical re-do.

So, is the new trend that applicants are going through mini medicals? just meeting with the practioner so he/she can claim her prize(pesos). No more thorough blood tests urine tests etc etc

It may just be me. I complained to the powers that be about having to pay again for the medical because they could not process it before it expired. They opted to extend the medical for my wife. At least that saved me a bit of cash.

Congrats on the PPR CJG, should be DM very soon...

As for the medicals and bring forward dates, keep in mind the bring forward date would be from the date they notified you, not the date you had the medical. So if you are notified, then wait 30 days before getting your re-medical, it may appear they process it in 15 days. Someone else getting the re-medical the day of notification should still see a 45 day wait.

So with this re-med email (which may or may not work) what are you saying we send. Something like "Hey, you have my meds, process them!"? And are we sure about the address?

As for the number of visa officers, one has to wonder are they segregated or not. That is, are there "Family class VOs" or just "VOs". If the former then we can expect the same rate of processing as before. If the latter, then the reopening of FSWP, other types of visas, and the eventual reopening of parent visas will lead to a future slowing down unless they start hiring soon.

So now that everyone's apps are moving I can just imagine you are all feeling nostalgic about the long wait. Thank goodness for GCMS. We can again experience the feelings of helplessness and frustration we all remember so fondly. Thank you CIC! :P

My wife is getting her re-med today and dropping off her PP at CEM. I suddenly remembered just before nodding off to sleep that she needs to make sure the file number is on the PP envelope or it will go into the CEM black hole. :o So I frantically texted her twice (just to make sure one got through, hehe). So just a reminder to write that on anything and everything. We are all Mr. or Mrs. F000... ;D

Yes. Mr. and Mrs. F000K....

Once they have the medicals that should be it correct? Can they still request more documentation? I never sent in a chat log of any kind and I have never been able to get an answer if there are any other doc's missing from the episode in stage 1. If they have the file open they should just go through the whole thing and give you a list of things they need.

What was in Appendix A that they asked for? We didn't get that...

"In order to continue processing your application, we require the following information and/or documents:
• Fully Completed Appendix A (attached) for you and each of your family members, whether
accompanying you to Canada or not. Passport details are not required for any family member
who is not accompanying you to Canada. (Each person should complete his/her own form.)
• Original Passport(s) for you and each family member who will accompany you to Canada
To ensure timely processing and facilitate your travel, we strongly recommend that you submit
the new red-coloured passports currently being issued by the Philippines authorities as they are
in compliance with the machine-readable passport Requirement of the International Civil
Aviation Organization."

This was the meat of it as well as stating the 45 day to comply deadline.
