Hi,

I'm a newbie and I apologize coz my question would probably off the thread. Me and wife are in need of your opinion.

My spouse is going to lodge an application for MPNP under family stream this year. She has a close relatives (1st cousins) living in Winnipeg.
While my family lives in the Philippines, I am living and working in the U.S. on a tourist visa for almost 3 years, needless to say im out of staus
I guess my question will be:

Will it be prudent to declare it my application ,include my work experience in the USA and continue working here in the US until
a decision on the apllication is met. Or go back to the Philippines before we submit the application.

And also would I also need and FBI background check?

I was thinking declaring my real status would give a plus in terms of my employeability, versus if not then my work history will ave void of 3 years.

Please kindly enlighten us.

:o WOW :o I cant even get my wife here for a 2 week tourist visa, dont understand how you can be in the states 3 years on a tourist visa and work. Id be worried telling them the truth, i dont know what MPNP is, but i hope you dont expect to get to canada in the near future, as us with spouses are finding it hard to get visas at a reasonable amount of time, wouldnt it make more sence to immigrate to the states since you have been there for 3 years.

I don't know what MPNP is either.. but I think that unfortunately Canada does not care your status in the States. They don't seem to care if you were illegal there or not. It's too bad because if you cheat one system it's possible you will cheat another. And yes, you will need an FBI check regardless. Don't lie to CIC.

MPNP= Manitoba Provincial Nominee Programme.

If you were working illegally in the US then you may as well just stay there. CIC will want to know where you have been and what you have been doing since you were 16 years old. There can be no time missed. Please review what makes you inaddmissable to Canada.

First of all thank you for your reply. I was referring to Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. I 100% agree with you not to lie to CIC. The fact that I will be honestly admit my status would show my integrity to come clean to Canada. I am hoping that Canada will give us that chance to start a new life.
I over stayed and did violate USA immigration law, but despite of this I am no criminal. I pay Federal and State taxes on time unlike some US citizen.

I don't think Canada will penalize you for it. They must have quite a system if you can work illegally yet still pay tax! Good luck.

I found this......

http://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/can-an-illegal-alien-in-the-us-apply-t-55498/

We are such a loving country to everyone but citizens. Where can I apply to become an illegal alien in Canada?

Just promise me that when you finally get your Canadian PR that you will work under the table and pay no tax; never apply to become a citizen and never vote. I would hate for you to have to break your record for having no integrity.
