It doesn't sound to promising with the way things are going at CEM and from reading some of the posts on this thread, there are a lot of frustrated people.

Yes, very frustrating. I'm in the same boat, application been with CIC for 5 months.
Hardest part is when sent to VO Manila everything goes"black" no updates on E-CAS. But I'm in it for the long haul, will see it through what other choice do we have. Keep your chin up, everyday is one day closer to our final goal.

Step

I've seen quite a few others who are on other threads who have got their visa's from CEM anywhere between 6 - 8 months. I know that none of us really knows whats going on there behind closed doors. It would be interesting to hear from someone who has actually been in there or knows of someone who know's somebody who works at a visa processing centre or works at one themselves. I'd surely like to be enlightened as to what goes on behind the scenes.

Hi everyone. Is there any good news for today? It's been so quiet. :(

Hi Maradhen,

I have no good news only some stats:

My application is now 10 days away from 16 months.
My application is 74 days from changing to "In Process"
My application is 60 days from re-meds received at CEM

I am getting more pissed every day.

If anyone has an older spousal sponsorship application at CEM from a visa exempt country, I'd love to hear from you!

That's all.

Good Night.

Believe me, I think we all would.

Hi Scosan, this is beyond acceptable. I would be at the MPs office knocking some heads.

THEY CANT GIVE ME THAT POLICE CLEARANCE dont know what step should I take next. I am so depressed.. Guys help me what to write in CEM... I am so helplessssss...

Hi Wella, I have been following some of your posts and it seems like I don't understand why you have to get a police clearance in China..(isnt there a Chinese embassy in the Philippines where you can get that)
I hope things will get better from here on so you can finally reunite with your love one in Canada

SCOSAN- We didn't receive any emails.

Are the COPRs sent through DHL to the sponsors address? I know I selected that all correspondences be sent to me the sponsor, but the problem is that on ECAS it shows my wife's address as my old address in Calgary. For some reason they have updated my address to Toronto and not hers. Also, are the coprs generally through DHL from Manila?

What I don't understand is that here on this thread for english only, so many people have such long, long waiting times, yet on other threads for people who are going through the process from april, may and even June are already getting their passport requests and others even their visa's and this has nothing to do with yolanda victims.

They've always been a little all over the place, some people get lucky and get it early, others have to wait a ridiculous amount of time. Sometimes it could be paperwork, clearances, etc causing problems but mostly it seems like they are inept at implementing a proper system that would clear the people waiting longer first. Keep in mind this forum is a very small sampling of the people that actually go through the process.

Not you, but I've heard a few people say they must have something out for mixed race couples but I think the way to look at that is: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

It depends on when your medical expires. They may request you to come pick it up at the CEM and bring a booking certficate to verify that you land before the COPR expires. If you have a while before the medical expires then they will most likely send it by DHL. The COPR generally are not sent to the sponsor as the person needs it when they land. If the applicant is from a visa exempt country and are in Canada than maybe they will be sent.
