hi guys! I am new on this thread (male to male / female to female)...but I've been reading a lot from this forum, it's just that I haven't come across with this topic until now...& I am sooo happy ;D

I am from Manila. My partner & I got married in Canada last February 2013. I also had my medical in Canada last March 2013 and I went back to Manila this April. We sent our application to Mississauga last April 15, 2013 and they received it 2 days after (April 17, 2013).

I was just wondering how was the timeline for our case? Is it the same as normal married couple? I've been reading forums and some of them got their visa in 8 to 10 months or even shorter.

Has anybody here sent their application this April? Hoping for a feedback...Thank you

our application here currently usually takes from 11 months now up to 18 months. So sad but we cant do anything but to wait and make ourselves busy.

I think that yeah, your timeline is the same. We're Conjugal, M/F and I saw on my ECAS that we have been approved, no interview or additional docs. The whole process from when they opened the file was same as everybody else, a month. It also seems like they passed it off to 3 different visa officers - maybe a supervisor - just to verify we qualified. We got delayed in the sponsor approval bit, and now delayed waiting for re medicals. But I think as long as the proof is there and it's pretty clear it's pretty much the same. And you're married so it's a really good chance for you. There's a guy on the English Manila thread and he's M/M, commonlaw, and he had no trouble being approved.

Sorry, I spaced out.. not ECAS, I mean I saw it on my GCMS.

You can check your ECAS online to see the progress of your application, it's really basic information and is pretty slow to update. https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=

GCMS are electronic notes on your file that you can request through the Access to Information and Privacy act. They will give more detail, but only after your file has been opened by a visa officer and worked on.

finally sent my application first week of May now crossing my fingers and doing regular mass and never ending bargaining to the Lord to give our wish to be united. Was waiting for the aor before posting but it seems that as of first week of May they are processing those who have applied on april 8, so more or less to open our application and posting a receipt would take them 1 month i think i need to sedate myself everyday for this long wait

I was just adding you to the spreadsheet. What date did CIC receive your app and when was your medical done? And any dependents on the app as well? And what province.

thanks steph c and scos, the medical was done march 21, 2013 and was sent via canada post on may 2 and was received by missasauga on may 3 thanks for taking time to add ours to the spread sheet ;D

got my SA approval May 15! Thank you God! First stage - approved!
