Why is it so difficult to contact a live representative of the Manila Embassy who
can answer questions about the visa application process.
My friend sends three letters to them. The first one accepting her application for working holiday visa, then denying her, then reaccepting her application. And them she finds out Manila never send a notice to Canadian Embassy indicating anything about the state of her application. The second letter denied her on grounds that she didn't provide a passport information, but she did and double checked to make sure that she did it right. And then to find out an answer to this mystery, she has to apparently fax or mail a letter request and can't contact a live agent by phone at the manila embassy.
Is this a joke? Is this how my country's tax dollers are being spent--by making it a complicated and confusing process of mysteries and uncertainties for people to acquire a visa?
I don't get it.
And as a canadian taxpayer, it makes me angry.
So, is there a way for foreigners(non-canadian citizens) not in Philipines to call
the Manila Embassy and get a hold of a live representative to answer my friend's questions about the state
of her visa?
I know canadians can call within Canada, but this number isn't available to people outside of Canada.
Is Canada trying to make it difficult, inconvienent and discourage foreigners from getting a canadian visa or something?
Please help me, so that I can at least, as a canadian citizen, help my friend and alleviate her confusion and frustration. Thanks.
