Hi Guys,

I am a US PR and a Canadian PR. I landed about a month and half ago. i have a US Citizenship test this next week and therefore, i am going back to US next week. do you think i will have trouble entering US Since i am also Canadian PR. i plan to continue my Canadian PR after getting my US Citizenship, which will happen after maybe two week after my test. please give me your ideas. will i have issue entering US ?

No - no reason you should have issues. This won't be a problem.

Hi Scylla,

I was just worried that i won't be allowed back in the US. When i return back from the US, i will only have a US Citizenship. i will loose my previous citizenship and my passport. My PR Card is based on my Current Citizenship Status and Passport. do you think i will be able to change my Citizenship status in my PR Card ? or do i have to do that when i go and apply for canadian citizenship ?

The US allows dual citizenship. Unless you tell your other country that you assumed US citizenship and do not allow dual citizenships, the US doesn't care.

Re-enter US as a US permanent resident and go handle your business. Upon re-entering they'll ask the usual questions: how long have you been away, what's your address/where do you live etc. Further questions is determined by your previois answers. All the best with your test, if you fail you won't be allowed dual permanent residency, you'll have to give one up, but you are allowed citizenship and permanent residency.
