Hello.
I read in my posting that usually US and Canada border officers will not stamp the passport if we just cross the border between US and Canada, regardless if we travel within a day or several days, is this true?

If this is true then if one does not reveal the number of days in US for the PR residency requirement, there is no way Canadian Govt to know how many days this individual stay in US?

For example -a non US citizen owns a property in Detroit, USA and also live in Windsor, CA to maintain residency and work there, But spend many weekends in Buffalo, NY (coming to US - using visitor visa entry). Would Canadian Govt be able to track the number of stay in Canada and in US? That is why I was asking about Canada and US border stamping.

Thanks

Do they not stamp your passport but do they scan your passport? If the US scans your passport as you enter the US, Canada will have access to that information. If Canada scans your passport or PR card when you enter Canada again, they will have that information. Some people have gotten away with lying but my advice is don't try it because if they find out, you will be in a lot of trouble. It is not worth it. Just make sure you stay within the rules.

Thanks Leon. What you said absoulutely makes sense. It's Not worth to get around the laws/rules after all the efforts on getting the PR and citizenship.
