Hi,

I'm working in the US and I got PR via FSW category. I need to land by the end of November. Unfortunately, the project I'm working on lasts till the end of the year, and I don't want leave mid-way. So, I'm thinking of doing my landing and returning to the US for a few months before permanently moving to Canada.

I'm thinking of driving up the US-Canada border and doing the landing. I understand that during this landing process, I need to provide them an address in Canada where they can mail the PR card. Normally, people in my situation provide the address of a relative or friend who receives the card and mails it to them. Unfortunately, I don't have any such person. I'm wondering what my alternatives are?

I know one of my alternatives would be rent an apartment in Canada for a couple of months, just to get the mailbox. While I don't mind paying, I'm wondering if there are cheaper alternatives. I'm wondering if I can provide the address of a lawyer or some firm/company that can forward the PR card to me? Does anyone do this in Canada?

Thank you for your ideas,
o_o

o_o. Glad to see you here. You kinda vanished once you received your visa :D

To answer your question, you have 2 options.
1. Get a UPS mailbox and provide that address for PR card delivery. Once the card is delivered, have them mail it to you.
2. In one of the posts, user QORAX listed a property for short term stay. When I checked their website, it seems as though they offer services related to receiving PR cards and mailing them for a fee. I think the post was something like "landing in Canada" or something. Look it up. That might be your best bet and much cheaper than renting an apartment.

Thank you FSW_Applicant +1 It's nice to see you. Yes, I did leave after I got my visa because I got too busy with personal work.

The UPS Mailbox seems a very good option. Money is not an issue for me, but it would certainly be cheaper than renting an entire apartment. I will call them up tomorrow and see if I can get something like this with forwarding to a US address. I hope this is possible.

I'm curious if you can tell me more about the second option you had. Are you referring to this thread: LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/landing-in-canada-all-you-need-to-know-t36735.0.html

Thank you again,

I thought that the PR cards were not mailed out to PO boxes.

Thank you guys. I think I'm going to go for the UPS Mailbox. It's is convenient because they can forward your mail internationally. I called up a few UPS stores in Canada and they can setup the mailbox remotely using a US address. I'm going to do this in the middle of next month, because I'm thinking of landing sometime in Oct.

Thanks again,
