Hi all. I know it's late to reply to this post but I faced similar situation and I hope anyone currently going through this same issue will find it helpful. So I entered my name wrongly in the application form. My given/first name -XX my family/last name -YY, but while filling in the form I entered Family name- XX YY and kept the given name section blank. I got my BIL with this mistake and in VFS appointment it appeared as XX YY XX YY. I understood the mistake from that appointment. Next I raised an web form stating my mistake and requested for the correction. I went for the biometric appointment with that wrong BIL. I did not face any issue there they let me in (VFS KOLKATA). Once inside, I asked the staff who was collecting my documents initially, that I have this name issue and I have raised an webform, what should I do next? They flagged the name section (circled it and wrote please check).
Then I proceeded with the officer who took my biometrics, I also declared there that I made this mistake and have raised the webform. They assured nothing else was required.
Later when I recieved my medical instruction letter, my name was correct there. I did not got any reply of my webform but it was corrected in the letter.
After that, I obtained my passport submission letter, you don't have seperate name section there so my name as a whole was coming as XX YY, which seemed correct. But when I uploaded it for vfs appointment my whole name was coming in the first name section and last name was coming blank.
I was worried that maybe the mistake is still there (although it shouldn't be as medical form was correct). So I raised another webform stating that this is the issue and I want to make sure that my TRV gets printed with correct name as per my passport.
This time I got a reply stating, the name in the application must be as per the passport. But in case there is a mistake, be assured that the TRV will be printed as per the passport information.
Later I obtained my TRV, with correct name and everything.
So these are the steps I went through, hope it helps somebody.
