Hi there,

Using the GCMS notes and the information on this forum I was able to make a direct appeal to the Eligibility Review Board.

I was wondering - for people who have done this how long did your process take?

The Service Ontario office only provided me with a fax number so I faxed my documents. Is anyone aware of a phone number or email address that can be used for confirming receipt and checking application status?

Thanks very much

I believe it to be around 6-8 weeks for an official response.

Are you appealing based on OWP case 27? If you are, I don't think you will likely get a positive result as ontario service has change their policy to reject OWP case 27 on account that it doesn't prove that the applicant qualifies for PR status unlike AIP and regular OWP and DM letter does.

Other than OWP case 27, good luck in your appeal.

I read up on 27 and it said that is for temporary workers. This is for my wife so it is not 27, it is spousal class. Also not a renewal but a first application based on passed eligibility.
Thanks

OWP case 27 is only issued through inland spousal class sponsorship. So it is not for temporary worker. Like I said, unless you are appealing on using OWP case 27, good luck on your appeal.

It's not just for temporary workers. It's also for individuals who have applied through spousal sponsorship inland and have recieved an OWP under the pilot program.

If you are appealing based on AIP email, then you will win the appeal as that is how we won the appeal. If you are using OWP issued under the pilot program through the PR inland spousal sponsor, you will likely get a rejection. Take a look at your wife's OWP and tell us if it has case 27 written on it or not.

Are you trying to appeal based on a note Eligibility: Recommend Passed" written in GCMS notes by CIC?

I don't think Ontario review board is going accept that as they require an actual email addressed to your wife that she meets the eligibility for PR.

Yes this is what I am trying to do.
I was hoping that since we are being processed at CIC Ottawa, living in Ontario and in the PR process and are Recommended Passed this would be acceptable because these are all the same conditions as an Inland application.

Officially though we applied outland so we do not get this magical email, just GCMS notes.

Has anyone successfully applied with GCMS notes?

Ahhhhhhh

Since you applied Outland, your wife cannot qualify for OHIP. OHIP are only offered to applicants who applied inland who met AIP stage. I am afraid your appeal will come back negative.

Ok well actually today when I got home I received a letter asking me to sign more forms for CIC disclosure. It seems like they are willing to consult with CIC but, as you say, they may reject me after all.

But would they not reject me automatically having only GCMS notes and not bother moving ahead with the process?

Luckily I found affordable private insurance but I would like to save that money if possible, but it sounds like maybe not :'(
