Hello,

Me and my wife made a mistake on one of the questions in are application. On the background declaration form there is a question that asks if you have ever had a visitor visa reject. We missed this and put no. My wife visitor visa was rejected three months stated they wanted her to apply for the permanent resident visa living outside of Canada. Will this be a problem for our application? Is there anyway to let the visa office know about our mistake?

Thanks for you help.

Is it an Outland Application? If so, you should contact the embassy/high commission immediately and let them know. The sooner the better!

You need to correct this error asap as CIC may see this as misrepresentation. And yes - they will know about the refusal.

No not at all... the Canadian Embassy does not see that they contract visitors visa to a outside company and send you a regulation 179 but take your money.... don,t say anything the immigration officer don,t see it now you are appling from outside Canada.... just send it to mississauga and start all over again... I,m applying in Manila and we are on 112 days for our PPR since Oct 16/12 since SA... you,ll be fine.... take care....

It is an outland application. How can I let the CIC know?

If you have been approved for first stage, then you have a UCI and a file number. Write a case specific enquiry to your VO through the website, and explain the situation. at the same time, fill out an updated form without the mistake, and send it to the VO with your file number etc, explaining the situation.

If you have not had sponsor approval yet, then wait for the first stage to come through, and once you have the reference, then send it to your VO. Don't send an updated form without the file number + UCI, as they won't be able to match it most likely.
Good luck,
Sweden

If you are speaking about companies like VFS, that is not entirely true. The processing is contracted out, but CIC will have a record of a decision on file.
