To sum up the story, a Mexican man is awaiting his appeal legally in Red Deer (god only knows why he picked that hell hole) and is being denied healthcare. Now, I'm all for ejecting the failed refugee claimants, especially when it's obviously fraudulent, however.........

If you move to Alberta from an international destination, you qualify for Healthcare immediately. No need to establish residency. Hopefully someone informs Mr. Kenney.... cuz he sounds uninformed.

If he had moved to Alberta as a permanent resident, then yes, he would qualify for health care immediately. But he was a refugee applicant who was denied refugee status, and the only reason he's still in the country is because he's appealing. So under his non-status, he's not entitled to health care coverage.
