Lost Record of landing for Test PLZ HELP！！！

Hi guys,

i m wondering if anyone was or know of anybody in this situation, i just discovered i misplaced my original document of record of landing, which is required for the citizenship test. I immigrated to canada 10+ years ago, and i cant find the original anymore. i have photocopies of the document, does anyone know if cic will accept the photocopy and let me write the test? will this cause a delay in my citizenship application???

I guess the big question is when are you writing your test?

I lost my original Record of Landing and applied for a new one last month, CIC website is showing a 6 month processing time. I probably still have months to go before I write my citizenship test (applied Jan 2012) so I'm sure (and hope) I receive my copy before then.

I would apply for a copy using the link above ASAP, if you get to write your test before receiving it, I would take the payment confirmation and your copy and hope for the best!
 
My test is at the end of this month, so there will be no way cic will send me a new copy before that. i will still apply though and pray for the best. its a never ending nightmare with this citizenship...

It's possible to make an "urgent" request but you need to include a reason and proof. You have a citizenship test at month end, so explain that and include copy of the letter inviting you to take the test. That is a tangible reason in my opinion. Hope it works out well for you and goodluck with the test.

I had a similar situation when i went for my test. I explained to the officer who accepted and allowed me do the test. they wont prevent you from doing your test if you have copies or evidence that you have requested a replacement.

Twiggy: do you think it would cause a delay in getting my citizenship oath, like they will wait until i get the cic copy of "record of landing" before they schedule me to take oath?
 
Hi,
they will ask for the record of landing.
dont worry, before test , report in local police stattion.
take that copy to the local immigration office and apply.
i lost it so applied throw hamilton immigration office.
got in like 2 or 3 months.
so apply soon.
when you got to test just tell me the story what happened.
and what actions you have taken to get the certified copy.

important, prepare well for the test.

jiyong: I had my test last week of December 2012 and got the replacement a few days after that. my Oath is in a few days time and all the lady told me on my test date was to make sure i have it before Oath which i do now so am not sure if they will allow Oath if you dont have it
