My parents applied for TRV in 2016 for my graduation but the visa was refused with reason of lack of funds. At that time, they applied through a travel agent. Now that i am PR i was planning to apply for TRV or super visa again once the covid calms down.
A problem, rather BIG problem is that they cant find the application package that they filled along with the refusal letter that came back. They applied the paper based application at that time.

What could be done as i know i should fill the form in same way as they filled last time, that is for the occupation history of my dad.
Our address is same for last 20 years so i can fill that information, no problem.
However to access the notes ill need the application number thats mentioned on the refusal letter thats no where to be found.
I calles CIC and they said there’s nothing you can do regarding finding the application number other than explaining in a letter to the visa officer.

Just make sure you mention the refusal. If you don’t remember the exact reasons or dates, make it approximate. The important thing is to include it in the application. IRCC can reference the previous application internally.

Yes i was planning to do that.
Also, my biggest concern is getting charged with misrepresentation of data. My dad is a cop and has held many positions in his occupation. So i am not sure what they mentioned in the first application with job titles and dates.

I don't think there's any way to retrieve that information.

All you can do is make sure you list everything correctly when you submit the new application.
