Depends a bit on location but generally 2-4 weeks. Can be a bit longer. As their advice says, don't make unchnageable travel plans until you get it back and have checked that there are no errors.

Can anyone help me out of what could be a problem as I applied a Canada visa under spousal sponsorship on may 2023 and then I did biometrics on December 2023 then I did medical on January 2024 and it was complete by February and then my background check started and it was complete on may 2024 and eligibility started on may where i received a request for additional information and I provided within may 2024 but since then there is no any update
So I would like to ask if anyone knows what the problem could be or if there is anyone going through the same

When you check the information in the tracker, is all what you provided ? I would also recommend doing GCMS notes.

thank you but I already got the passport submission request and I submitted it last Friday and today I got notification that it has been received and is processed by ircc and after 2 hours I got another notification that my decision envelope has been dispatched to VFS

If i may ask what was your visa office and which country is pa from? Cuz normally it shouldn't take that long.
