Hi guys just made our first landing in Canada...it's a long and very tiring trip with our one year old baby...the arrival was very smooth at Toronto...first before landing wet required to fill up disembarkation card, then at the airport, I was asked by the immigration officer bout basic question, like who are with u, where we came from and what with us... That was very quick...then they stamped all our passports.....after that we proceed to another counter where we presented our CoPR, and signed some docs... There they asked bout our mailing address where they could send our PR cards...then to another office cubicle where they issued our SiNs and some related orientation... Then we proceed to small kiosks where they gave us booklets and fliers bout canada......after that we picked our baggages thn to the customs area for the good and financial declarations... I have all the forms prepared with us, an as expected the process is flawless... That's it, approximately u need 1 an 1/2 hours to finish the proces...It may take long if r ques ahead of u... The advice is if u have connecting flight to other place in Canada, allow some hours for the process advisable is atleast three hours before the next flight..... For us we have 2.45 hours before our next flight to Alberta...we were in Hurry to catch our next flight... Overall the entire experience is ok except for the baby...if u planning to Land soon, just prepare everything... Ur immigrqtion documents, forms, the list of goods and proof of funds.... Nway d ppol r very welcoming.....

Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Hi dear Farhan,

You should be hearing from us in the next couple months.

It means your file is under "Security Checks", and it is hard to give any time frame that is why they write this sentence.
You got MR before SC, so now SC are under the way.

Hi,
I got MR on Jan 10, 2014 and right after that I raised a CSE on Jan 23rd - that was replied by LVO saying "background checks are still on going on your file and still may take some months", which means, in Jan B/G security checking was on going which actually was started somewhere earlier than MR. Then in mid Apr, when I raised CSE, that time they replied that file is awaiting review by VO.....so I am in opinion that by that time BG SC has been completed. Even that time they didn't give a tentative time frame...now it is only this time that they have given a tentative time-line.....(next couple months - means Jun / Jul), with this overall scenario, I believe that BG SC has been completed and now it is the stage of PPR (PPR 1)....

Thank you my friend...im back ;D as it is the hibernation rule is not helping me :( >:( nothing helps with lvo u see lolz!

By the grace of Almighty ALLAH and after 310 days, 10.25 months of application time. I just received my passports with PR stamp and COPR. Thanks you all for your valuable input. I wish you all luck and pray for your success. Fortunately my GCMS is due on coming Monday, will be interesting to see what is mention on it. If something helpful for the forum then I will share with all.

MashaAllah..good!

Alhamdulillah, third line appeared on ECAS.

The medical results have been received.

Don't know why LVO takes ages to get S/C checks done. S/C checks time frame should be the same irrespective of VO as they have nothing to do with that, yesterday seen one of my friend's GCMS notes got some idea that NDVO also is sending the files for S/C checks either with MR or after but not before. Then why they are getting PPR on an average after 40-60 days of MR >:( >:( >:(

Some interesting facts.

Passports advised to be sent to Abu Dahabi - Visa issued office stated on the visa is LONDON.
Date of visa issue is stated as 28-04-2014 - This was the day I received my PPR2 request.
Date of expiry is stated as 07-05-2015 - My medicals were received by LVO on the 08-04-2014, though I undertook my medicals on the 05-04-2014.
Decision made on the ECAS website is 01-05-2014.

Woww...thanks for sharing all this...certainly u have been a good traveller...
we should all accept by now tht canada's weather is going to be very depressing at times. last nite i spoke to my brother. he lives near toronto in london city n he told me day temp is around 23-25 but night again becomes like 4-5 deg. its almost summer time! ???

u really made me think of australia alteast 5 times. our immigration for australia will be finalized next year or this year too.
r u serious for the salary level? ive heard the economy of the country is facing trouble...

:D Its just that I love travelling. I lived most of my time in England(Work visa)and had to move to Australia as I couldn't risk waiting for Canadian PR.
If given an option I would have never left England as I found it to be the most accepting multicultural society and people are extremely courteous. I visited Toronto this March and the weather was that I couldn't tolerate( I considered UK's weather to be pretty harsh and this was like something from Mars :P)Also I didnt find Toronto that happening and every person I spoke to told me jobs are scarce. US was an another experience and after visiting NewYork I have fallen in love with that city! It is as mesmerising as it portrayed in the movies 8)

Have been in Australia(Melbourne) foe last one month and honestly speaking I would prefer to stay here. The weather is fantastic along with the landscape(beaches/countryside). People are financially more strong and wages are almost 3 times as compare to England and twice if compare to Canada. The lifestyle is another big factor and I would rate it exceptional! You have to come here to experience and believe what I have said. Then again I might be wrong because I might be preceiving things in a different way and I am only in my mid 20's lol :D

we never know how long fsw 2013 applicants r going to suffer. Im becoming quite sure that while fsw 2014 applicants of NDVO will enjoy MR and DMs, we or maybe late fsw 2013 applicants of LVO will be still struggling in the famous 'LVO mystery of security checks' >:( :-X

hi Maria_Sal,

I actually only applied to Engineers Australia to get approval to apply to the Australian Immigration. But i havent proceeded furthe cuz I thought that at the end of the day i wud only be at one place, either Cadana or Australia. My question to you is that have you done Australian Immigration on your own or thorugh a consultant?

hahahahaha.....let me tell you one more rquirement of the hibernation rule.....you must have to be busy from your head to toe to get full benefit of this rule...... :P :P :P

Anyways, welcome back ;) ;) ;)

Well, I also have doubt about salary level being doubled. 1.25 times can be digested based on my experience and information recieved from my friends but 2 times is kind of unbelieveable. Anyways, MH_UK is employed in Australia so he should have done some analysis already.

What I am thinking is that he might be referring to oil & gas and mining sector specifically. Salaries in these sector are quite high for employees based in remote/offshore locations. But it is almost similar case in middle east and other parts of the world.
