Dear Folks

Please let me know the procedure of upfront medical, its pros and cons, and documentation involved. Anyone who undergo upfront medical please share there experience.

I have received my stamped passport and CPR yesterday from Abu Dhabi Visa Office.

My question is: Can I land at any destination I want except for Quebec?

In case I land in Ottawa (Ontario), can I write down an address in Gatineau (in Quebec, but next to Ottawa) ?

Quebec uses a seperate visa procedure altogether so I think you will have trouble landing in Canada and stating that you will be moving to Quebec, so I suggest you keep it as Ottawa to get past border control and then go on from there on.

I am also looking to move to Ottawa.

When you send a CSE what exactly do you write? You should ask some specific questions like I did to get a more tailored response, rather than a standard reply which I am sure will frustrate you.

It's not right that people are made to wait for 167 days without any knowledge of what is happening with their application, especially when there are others that are getting MR before you. Those are the questions that you need to ask.....in my opinion

What tailored response did u get on the specific question?

I did try to be specific by asking when i can expect activity on my file?...nd guess what? nothing new

My time line is on the left ... its been 167 Days from PER still no news from LVO ... every time a send a CSE they give me the standard reply waiting for processing ... do you guys think i should order the notes ???

Although my waiting time is not as long as everybody elses (I'm @ 84 days), I mentioned the following;

1. Why is my Ecas system still showing application recieved date (1st line) when I have a letter stating PER.
2. How can we rely on the processing times on the CIC website for LVO when the dates on there are 2010.
3. I mentioned that I have some important decisions to make that are on hold because of the delay to my application.
4. And finally asked what the expected timelines will be for my application.

The response I got was specific in the sense that they told me I should not be contacting LVO directly and it should be done via my consultant. She said she would appreciate it if this is done correctly next time as they cannot confirm that I am an applicant. And finally she said that she will contact me once the application is being reviewed.


To be honest the informatoin I got was not helpful and in summary I guess the repsonse is the same as yours. However the email was specific and not generic as she was very succint when it came to avenues of communication.


Oh and she ended is "yours sincerely" nice touch

You think ... well i have to travel for work majority is to the US ... but not for long periods of time ... maybe 1-2 months max apart from that nothing much

must say you were quite persuasive in your query. However, i cant b specific anymore as dont intent to raise anymore CSEs. I raised once in Feb (4th month of PER) then April (6th month of PER) and then in May which i agree was too soon but had too as i was planning my vacations and traveling (though i should have mentioned it in the email to LVO)

As of now i just intent to lay low and see how things progress because i felt the third CSE might have annoyed the VO.

We are dealing with a lack of good resource and poor systems which together create long durations within the application period.

I think you have given yourself the best advice which is to lay low for a while and keep yourlsef busy with other things whilst you hear back from LVO. If you look at your situation optimistically, the longest period I have seen is 205 days (probably more now), so you are 38 days away from the worst case as we know, which in round terms is a month. Considering you have waited for over 5 months, then 20% more is a something you can manage.

You can order notes as enough time has passed. We have observed that people with frequent travel history are the ones are waiting. Simple files with less number of job and less travel move faster. Few observations.
