Still, Toronto has its positives as well as negatives versus calgary..
for e.g.: Toronto is a big versatile city, more immigrants thus easier to blend, but more free, a bit higher rents, better weather, more activities, nearer to america..etc
Calgary, less people, more conservative life style, colder weather, better job opportunities especially for doctors & engineers, less rent, more outdoors.. etc

You will have to choose what suits you more..

Also, I am more in favour of settling for once.. In my opinion: I think that if I have already made up my mind to settle in Canada & build a life there, that staying somewhere else is wasting time.. because I would be wasting valuable "building" time building somewhere else..
I know that might not suit everyone, but that's how I see it..

Mashallah congrats for the gr8 news ... How long did it take you to recieve your visa ?? Where did you send your passports ( London /Islamabad ) ?? Did you recieve the visas on Sunday morning ??? Cuz here in Pakistan there are no saterday or Sunday deliveries , any way wish you and your family all the best in settling in Canada .

I have booked my ticket and In Sha Allah will be landing in 2nd week of May . For the hotels , try booking.com and hopefully you will find a good one ....If you want to look for some apartment or houses for rent , please log onto www.rentfaster.ca

I found the site Tasnim gave you quite useful.. & there are several other sites as well, such as: homerent.com, kijiji.com, craigslist.com
but I would recommend that you wouldn't pay anything until you see it in person first.

If you mean how long did the process take since we first applied.. That would be 2 years & 3 months.. While if you mean how long did it take us to recieve the visa since our passports were delivered to "London Visa Office", well, it took the visa office a month to stamp it & another month for it to reach us through mail!

Yeah, It reached our district's post office on a sunday morning, which isn't an off day here in Egypt. Our weekend here is on Fridays & Saturdays..

Al- hamdolilah... what a fantastic journey it was on this forum, started on March 2011.Very help full and great support from all of you...
