London or Buffalo?

I'm Swedish and applying for permanent residency as a common-law partner and I have to choose between London and Buffalo.
Any tips?

Compare processing times. If you are in Canada, Buffalo is closer if you have to attend for an interview.

I know those are the times, but wouldn't Buffalo's time table be a little skewed? It seems that London has a fairly homogeneous clientèle compared to Buffalo, which probably has a lot of difficult cases from nationals from all over the world to deal with, so with a larger spread easier cases might be faster in Buffalo. Or?

There is just no exact science to it. It should depend on how well your application is prepared. If it's a strong application you "should" be on the lower end of the processing times but it's impossible to know for sure.

Here's an idea for you. Go to www.trackitt.com and compare timelines (average) for the two embassies. These are stats of real people. It might help you make your decision. But if you're looking for the "secret" no one has it as far as I know. And if they do they aren't sharing! Good luck.
