Hi I heard that for IT professional people LMO is waived. I mean if employer is ready to give a job to a person living in another country belongs to IT flied he/she can come easily over here is it rite or a just rummors.

Thanks

It was waived until 2010 or 2011, I highly doubt they waived it again.

Me, too.
We've been waiting for quite a long time and there's still no response, and even no updates from Service Canada!

not all IT jobs are LMO is waived. I work here under IT and to hire foreign worker my employer need to provide an LMO

This is the first time i heard any thing like this. I am NOC 2174, got my LMO processed around Dec. 2012, but unfortunately the work permit took a lot longer. I would be leaving in Jan. My employer hires people from different parts of the world which are skilled in a very specific domain under IT.

All of them require an LMO, never heard of an exception. I know at least 4 more people who went to the same employer since mid 2012 till now. All of them needed LMO's.

Just to be clear, these are very specific roles for which jobs have been listed for like a year or so on multiple places including the company website. So it is very very clear that Canada does not have people skilled in the area and badly need those. Otherwise, i won't be going A YEAR after my original date of joining with offer STILL being valid :)

So even if such roles in IT require LMO (the others i know of had different NOC Codes too though i am not sure those were the ones mentioned earlier as exempted), i would wonder why would any others be exempted.

There used to be intra company transfers plus some thing called "accelerated LMO's". Both of those were cancelled i think around May 2013.
