I am in an awkward position. I received LMO approval and a Temporary Foreign Worker permit last year. The permit states the job title of the role I have held since joining the company. Due to my merit and abilities the company is offering me a new position where I can offer more value, as they put it. Basically it's a transition to a new role and job title will be different.

I'm concerned that I may not be able to accept this, I have already said I would as I did not want to complicate matters for the person in charge. I am quite sure he is not aware of my status because he started 6 months ago.
After checking online I cannot find reference to my situation. I am still working for the same company but not in the same role. My gut tells me this is not correct.

I am also waiting for PR to be processed under CEC. Does anyone know from experience or legal understanding if I should decline the change? Would this impact my PR approval?

Thanks for advice.

You need a new LMO and a new work permit if you want to accept the new role.

No - declining the promotion will not impact your CEC application.
