LMO Approval

Hi All,

Just want to share with all of you my LMO time line and story. I have been visiting this forum quite often as i needed LMO. I would also like to share my experience with all of you as it might help and solve some of the queries which i wanted to know myself when i was in pursuit of the LMO and now visa.

First my employer had applied LMO but after 5 weeks the application was rejected because of these reasons;

1) Wage rate was below (just $2)
2) Not advertised on National Job Bank
3) NOC code was not on the Job posting website

After these questions my employer had applied the LMO again with all the info (all 3 answers). He reapplied the LMO and got the approval with in 2 weeks. So this is the end of LMO story.

Now Work permit:

I submitted my application on 21st July and on 3rd August we (my wife and myself) received our passports and medical test forms. I got my medical tests done on 4th August and resubmitted my passports to the embassy on 5th Aug itself. The medical test consisted of Blood test, Urine test, chest Xray and a detailed physical examination like Blood pressure and medical history. After the test was over, the doctor sent the medical report to the Embassy directly and now we both are waiting to get our work permit / Final approval.

Were you inside Canada during the LMO process?

(1) Technical Sales Executive (NOC 6221)
(2) No, during the LMO process I was outside of Canada
(3) My Employer did everything for me but it took long time to get Positive LMO (Apx: 10 weeks)

Congrats on passing the lmo.
I am in sales too, recruitment sales and am coming to canada next year on a working holiday visa and hope to get pass the lmo to get a work permit from there. As you are in sales and so am i thought i could ask your advice. Like as i am a recruitment consultant do you think I will pass the lmo,is there a shortage. Plus how many years sales experience did you have.

It's good to listen to a positive story and hope that it remains positive for the remaining process.

Can you please answer my following queries to some extent if not fully:
1. Were you in direct contact with your employer or through some consultant, during the LMO process?
2. When your employer submitted your application to HRSDC, did you receive any acknowledgment from HRSDC stating that they have received your application and if they sent you the acknowledgment, how much time did it take for the acknowledgment to reach you.
3. I have applied my case through a consultant (WWICS) and it has been 6 weeks and I have not received any confirmation or knowledge whether my file has even been forwarded to HRSDC. Did you receive some file number or acknowledgment when you applied for LMO? If yes, then i can follow up in a similar way with my consultant.

Hi Simerjyott,

Did your consultant (WWICS) told you that they filed a LMO from HRSDC for you? First you need to have a job offer from a Canadian employer who is willing to offer a job and do the needful for applying the LMO from HRSDC.

I am unable to gather from your post whether you have a job offer fron canadian employer or not. Guess you should contact your consultant for a clarification.

Thank you for your post. Actually it did really help me. It answered some of my queries. I just got hired and my employer soon will start the LMO process after the 2 weeks job post advertisement. My employer is also from Winnipeg, though I am in Canada right now on a visit visa, I will be outside Canada during the entire LMO and work permit process. So we basically are on the same boat. Kindly update this thread as soon as you get any development with your case. One more question, In applying for work permit, do you have to show the IO some proof of strong ties back home to convince them that you are returning to your home country after the expiration of your work permit?
