Hi all,
I am trying to get a positive LMIA for a potential employee, this is the first time I have tried to employ a foreign worker so it s all new to me.
The person i'am trying to employ is from the uk and is currently over in Canada on a visitor visa whilst his partner is on a working visa here. They have decided they want to stay in Canada and are trying to start the immigration process.
I advertised on job bank last November for a finish carpenter and he applied for the position, and out of all the applicants he was the best applicant, so I said we would look into the whole employing a foreign worker.
So here lies the problem I have now had the LMIA returned twice to incomplete information!! The last time was due to incomplete transition plan?? So could someone please direct me in how to correctly fill in the transition plan for someone who is already really transitioned to canadian life and just wants to start work? ( plus I really could do with the employee starting sooner rather than later). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You've misunderstood the objective of a transition plan. The transition plan has nothing to do with ensuring the foreign worker can transition to Canadian life. The purpose of a transition plan is to demonstrate how you (the employer) plans to transition from relying on foreign workers to fill your roles - to using the existing Canadian workforce. You can find the transition plan form here:
