Hi
I have been confused by concept of LMIA and its impact on EE. I have 1 year of work experience on an open work permit and going to apply for EE. The contracts doesn't say anything about LMIA. Do I have to worried about this or it doesn't apply to my situation?

Hi,
you do not have to have a LMIA to be qualified for EE. Having a positive LMIA is an add-on to your EE profile as it could give you additional 50 (For NOC 0, A, B jobs) or 200 points (for NOC 00 jobs). There's nothing that you need to worry about. If you have about 470 sth points, you can sit still and wait for your ITA. If you have an EE score in between 420 and 460 your Canadian employer has the option of helping you obtain a LMIA to boost your EE score so that you could receive an ITA faster.

You don't need an LMIA. However then you cannot claim points for having a job offer.
