Hello,

I currently have a 417 CRS score. I have gotten a NOC0 job offer under PGWP, but my score for "Arranged employment" is still 0. I believe this is because my offer did not need LMIA since I was hired under PGWP. Can I still ask my company to assess LMIA to help my immigration process?

So you need a job offer with a positive LMIA. The employer needs to prove no Canadian can do the job and show why hiring you will grow their business. It costs time and money. Once you have a LMIA, you apply for a closed work permit. Again, takes more time. Sometimes more than a year for processing.

Don’t use CAPS, it means you are yelling.

Your employer needs a positive LMIA. They need to pay the $1000+ for the application and fill out the paperwork. They need to complete a market assessment and show they could not find any Canadian/PR to do the job and show how hiring you will allow them to grow their business to hire more Canadians/PRs. The process takes months.

Thank you for your reply. I would like to note that my PGWP expires this July and I will have to apply for a new work permit very soon. Would my company require to file LMIA in this case?

Your employer needs to get an LMIA in order for you to claim 50 points.

even if your work permit is exempt from LMIA, getting a job offer letter is not enough as your work permit does not state your employer.

“You may be exempt from needing an LMIA for Express Entry if your current temporary job is LMIA-exempt, states a specific employer or employershttps://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...y/documents/offer-employment/lmia-exempt.html
