Wow so happy for you ewee, I hope I can get my OWP soon coz I'm excited to work at other place.I'm so tired of cleaning house every day. I read somewhere that CIC will send letter for confirmation that they receive application forms. Is that true? I'm still waiting for the confirmation letter from CIC to come. :'(

in my case, i haven't receive any confirmation letter (neither via post or email). i just receive a mail and when i opened it, its actually my OWP already

i already finished my 2 year contract with my employer on june 2012 and my employer didn't re-hire me anymore so i did request for ROE. on july, i applied for my PR and OWP and take note, i was unemployed by then but still i was granted OWP. i also clarified that thing to cic before applying. the agent told me that it doesn't matter whether you're employed or not, what really matter is that you already met the req'ts. in my opinion, your friends are telling you that you need to be employed before applying for your safety, maybe what they're trying to say is when your employed you don't need to worry bout your financial matter cause you never know when you will gonna receive your OWP, it may be too soon or it may take a long time (that's just my opinion okay?!). regarding to your police/ nbi clearance, for me the best thing to do is call the philippine general consulate in your area. here are the contact details: 161 Eglinton Ave. East, Suite 800 Toronto, Ontario, Canada M4P1J5

ask ko lang naging caregiver po kase ako nung kamag anak namen as private caregiver..pwede ba nya akong bigyan ng certificate?wala bang kaso ito or issue na kamag anak ko yung nag issue neto?nakapagtraining din po ako sa VBG ng caregiver course na pasado sa standard ng canadian embassy....gusto ko po kaseng makapag work sa canada...sana masagot nyo tanong ko...

as long as you have 6 months caregiver training you are qualified. the work experience from your relative should be back up by sss contibution if you declare it in your application. if you dont have sss better dont mention it. they will surely ask for proof.

Morning all. Time is moving along nicely. Can't wait to file Feb next year. Just wanted to know if we need to also get police clearance fr here in Canada and what's the process. Would also love to get an idea of how others have settled into their new lives with open permit. What type of jobs have you found or if you've found difficulty in getting your credentials recognized. I myself would love to do a short course (suggestions welcomed) or going on a month vacation after I file and am waiting on my open permit. It is just really hard to consider staying 3 or so extra months in this job. Trust me it is hard work as a lot of you guys know. Thanks guys n keep the faith all.

bout the police certificate/ clearance, guys, take note that you need to claim it from every country where you live for the period specified by cic (if im not mistaken, it's like for more than 6 months. oh well kindly just check on cic website just to be sure) when i requested mine here in edmonton, i went to the police told them that i'm requesting for a police cert/ background check for immigration purpose then they asked me to fill out a form, pay the necessary fee (and if i remember it's like $35) then they will give you option if you want to pick it up or you want it to be mailed to you. you will receive it a week or so depending on the number of the said application they are actually processing

by the way, when i went to the police, they asked for 2 government issued i.d
