The duration of receiving the open work permit is not the same for everyone. A year ago, others received their OWP in two months. When I called CIC last year the maximum waiting period is 4 months but generally you wouldn't have to wait that long . As long as you submitted all the requirements there's nothing to worry about. Wait and be patient.

any single applicants from Montreal? I would just like to ask if how many days/weeks/months are you supposed to wait for an interview date after sending in the copy of the passport, receipt of payment and pictures? I sent mine last March 26 and I'm planning to go to the Philippines this April and I can't start booking yet because of the uncertainty of the interview date.

Boyblue ma dear need yr help plz if you can I be appreciate I have done already my landing interview and soon I'm going get my PR Card but my husband did not get any PPR from Delhi embassy so what you think what I have to do? Do I call CIC here? Cuz on my interview tym CIC officer told me she gona email to Delhi embassy and let dem know but it's month finish and no any news my husband get yet plz help me if you can thank you god bless u and god bless ma all caregiver friends......

I got my visa rejected last week. My husband is currently studying in Canada. Now I am thinking to apply for an open work permit.

From the forums I got to know that visitor visa for spouse get always rejected.

can I apply for open work permit immediately after my visitor visa rejection?

I'm a June 2011 applicant..I was single when I submitted my application and knowing that the PR application is taking forever, I decided to go get married by mid 2012...Upon my return to Canada, I submitted my husband's forms,as forwarded by cic (by the way, I requested the forms prior to my wedding so then I would have an idea of what to do when I come back)...In July 2013, CIC sent me an email requesting my husband to submit all necessary documents(KIT) to CIC Manila..March 20,2014 when they requested him to undergo medical exam and so he did on April 2...As of yet, I'm back to 'waiting' again and I have a feeling it wouldn't take that long as MOST of the applications are now being processed in Canada, that is according to the letter I have received dated March 21,2014.

My dependents did medical in Baguio city. I am so happy it takes us only 3 hrs and we are done. I am recommending the Nationwide Baguio di sila ganun ka strict compare to manila at same time pag me record ka measles vaccination wala kna babayaran unlike Manila khit me vaccine na magbabayad padin extra for that.we are just waiting for xray result so far other test and exam are ok. First come first serve for those who are interested. Bring passport another valid id 3 pcs of passport copy 7 pcs of visa canada picture.
