Last July I got a letter from CIC requesting me to pay my RPRF.

I paid the fee in August and I got confirmation(by letter) that my payment of RPRF was received on August 30th, 2011.

We are pleased to confirm receipt of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee for your relative(s). The visa office has been notified that the applicable fees have now been paid.

However, I still haven't heard anything back after I received that letter. Is this normal? I'm driving myself crazy checking the application status daily and looking for mail for an update.

Do you guys think there is something wrong? Or is this just how it goes?

Did you try calling them?

Are you in Canada or outside Canada?
Outside Canada you could try this number suggested by one of our forum member:
+1613 944 4000 and then choose the following options when prompted:
1 , 2 , 1 , 2 , 1 and then 0
Good luck ;)

You are welcome. That is what we are here for :D To help each other.

Turns out that that number is no good for outland applications. They can only help you if you are applying inland

You could try sending a case specific email to your visa office. They may not send anything back, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Yea that's what I ended up doing.

All I got back was that my file was in queue to be reviewed by an officer.

I wish we could get more detail about this process =/ The waiting is driving me crazy

Yeah, I think that's the hardest part, not knowing what is going on. What is your VO? I guess, just try not to worry and they will contact you if they need anything (easier said than done, I know).

You could also request the GCMS notes to see if there is any indication in your file that the RPRF was received. It takes about 30 days to get them if you request they be sent to you via email.

I have a letter stating that my RPRF was received and that the visa office was notified. So I'm not worried about that, just get restless not hearing anything for a while I suppose.
