Hello everyone,

I need your experiences, I and my wife landed in Montreal on Feb.27th, 2014, then we left quickly to US and then home. Now I'm ready to get back to Canada, my wife will not come with me as she doesn't like to lose her current job as a job in Canada is not guaranteed, at least we have a source of money now. For me I will try to establish a new life then she will come.

I have a bachelor degree in Accounting but never worked as an accountant, I was administrative coordinator for 5 years and then Inventory and Logistics specialist for the last 6 years, I have intermediate level of English and some basics of French.

I'm very worry about jobs in Quebec and about my opportunities, I cannot communicate effectively in French.

1- Do you think Quebec is a nice place for a newcomer like me with poor French? I have been advised by people to not residing in Quebec and leave it right after landing.

2- If I decided to study at any CEGEP, can I study in English? If so, what are the CEGEPs that offering study in English?

3- Will it possible to leave Quebec to any Provence? I already signed an obligation to reside in Quebec.

4- What if I failed to find a job and out of money in few months later? Does it mean that I must leave Canada, or is there a money aid for newcomers?

5- If you guys advised me to leave Quebec, which provence is highly recommended for a newcomer? Which city? I heard about Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Vancouver

6- My last question, my daughter was born in the USA right after my landing, I will apply to sponsor my daughter once I get beck to Quebec, there is a special document that I have to get from government of Quebec, what if I applied to sponsor my daughter and left Quebec? Will the application be at risk? Or I should be in Quebec until she gets her PR.

I know I asked too my but I really need your experience and help.
Any other recommendations other than my questions will be appreciated.

Can't you reside in Gatineau, Quebec and find a job in Ottawa, Ontario? This way you can continue reside in Quebec!

You signed an intent to settle in Quebec but there is no minimum time and according to the charter of rights and freedoms, as a PR, you may live and work in any province. Since it is already months since you landed, immigration can not say that you did not intend to live in Quebec when you applied and landed. Your situation could have changed in the past 6 months since you landed so it is up to you.

A PR must reside in Canada in order to sponsor their family so you can not apply for sponsorship and then leave again.

If you apply for sponsorship from Quebec, you will need a CSQ so it might take a little longer plus you should probably stay in Quebec until your daughter gets her PR.
