Yeah, it would be good if they could provide it in the actual regs or guidance, to say any 3 years out of the past 10. That question and answer is ambiguous.

I am still tempted to decline my ITA, update my EE to make the process cleaner going forward, and then hope I get pulled out of the hat again before late August. I turn 34 in two weeks so that will be 5 points off my 459 if I have to start again... Only trouble is, I can't know if I will be drawn out of the hat again by later summer. Is 454 ever enough in a typical year?

You don't get any extra points in ee for having more than 3 years of experience. It's 5 years for Canadian work.

They changed the system in Nov 2016, so we have no idea where the points will go. It dropped to 450 in 2015, but never lower.

But where does it say that it is any 3 years within the past 10? That's what I'm not seeing clearly stated in the guidance.

Is it an issue if someone creates another profile (with different GCKey/email) with correct/missed details like this and wait for another draw? If they get ITA with that profile, they can deny the one for which they already got (with incorrect info) and withdraw the profile. I know having two profile is not allowed, but it is unlikely someone matches the old profile vs new profile and understands what happened. Moreover since one of the profile would be withdrawn, it won't be possible to see what was there. Any thoughts ?

"3 years or more of foreign work experience"

You don't get any more points, therefore more doesn't count or add anything to your eligibility http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

Checkout the CRS calculator, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

"In the last 10 years, how many years of skilled work experience do you have?
It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation (NOC skill type 0, A or B)."

3 years or more have the same score.

Won't the system flag up two EE profiles with same name, DOB, etc. ? Not sure I'd want to upset them and be banned from applying again. It would help thoughv ::)

Sure, but it is unclear to me whether using a 3 year period from 6 years ago would count the way my current role does. It seems odd to me that they would give the same points for experience that I got 6 years ago or more and which ive completely forgotten.

Why? It's been that way with pr for years. This isn't a new requirement.

I was offered ITA earlier this month with 459 points. I submitted EE profile in late August. I think I might need to decline my current ITA to fix a few niggling issues that might cause me a problem later. Does anybody know whether I will make the next draw if I decline today and quickly fix up my EE profile? I am a little nervous about giving up on my ITA in case I don't get another by August, and the issues I've identified might not be important... tough decision.

Hey Berty,
How did you get ITA with 459 when the cut off this month was 468? What am i missing? :o

Last week's draw that issued 3,334 ITA at a CRS cutoff of 459 is what you are missing.

Thank you! Just saw it is at 434, and my score is at 433! Here's hoping the next one gives me an ITA!

BTW, does declining an ITA (in opening poster's case) cause issues?
