I currently live in Ahmedabad, India. I am expecting an offer from an employer in Quebec.
My question may sound a little weird but will be very helpful during my salary negotiations. Perhaps Indian diaspora can easily help me out with this quest.
Currently my net take home income in Ahmedabad is about 100,000 indian rupees (almost 2000CA$) and I can maintain a middle to upper middle class lifestyle here.
I want to know how much i need to earn in Montreal to maintain similar lifestyle there.
To give some details
Apart from groceries and other costing 20,000rs per month (CA$ 380)
I live in own house paying 20,000rs(CA$ 380) monthly loan installments.
I own a car spending almost 30,000rs.(CA$ 570) monthly on its installments as well. about 5000rs.(CA$100) of fuel additional.
First child is going to grade I in school where fees are 50,000per year(CA$ 1000 PA). Second is only 1.5years old.
We do dine out twice or thrice a month. Do domestic touring on weekends and during small vacations - spending near about 25,000 a year (CA$500 a year)
In short a relatively simple but "happy" life here and i want the same to be in Montreal for sure.
I hope i could be most transparent. Kindly let me know salary equivalence in Montreal
