Hi,

I understand that for applying for PR under CEC category a letter from my company mentioning my present roles and responsibilities is required. However my company is refusing to issue me such a letter. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem. An early reply on this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

keep trying to get a reference letter from your employer, its not mandatory to have it signed by the HR manager so you can try with your direct manager or supervisor.
without a reference letter detailing your roles and responsibilities your chances will be very low of having your application approved under CEC.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
A few more questions.
Does the reference letter(from my HR Manager/supervisor/direct manager) have to be on the company's letter head ? Can a office colleague of mine provide me with such a letter mentioning my roles and responsibilities ? If yes, then does that colleague need to provide any documents which highlights his current position/responsibilties in the company. Kindly provide me with these details.

Regards

you are welcome,

yes the reference letter has to be in company letterhead, whoever if you exhausted all the possible ways and still unable to get a reference letter on a company letterhead then you can use the one on a plain paper as long as its issued by someone who is in a senior position then yours(such as a supervisor).
the person signing the letter has to indicate his job title and include his contact informations.
please note this should be your last resource if you are not able to get it on the company's letterhead.

Dear Friends,

I have been unable to get such a letter (mentioning my roles and responsibilities) from my company on the company's letter head nor is my Manager willing to give me a letter on a plain paper mentioning my experience details with his contact information. Does anyone have a solution to this problem.
FYI, my WP was renewed about 6 months back and I had received the entire WP application package from my company that has all the details mentioning my roles, responsibilities, compensation package etc.. This application package is what my company had submitted to CIC (on my behalf) to get my WP extended. Can this be of any help ? Please advice. Kindly also note that this application package information is six months old.

Thanks

I think that's better than nothing. If I were you, I'd use that.

Plus, I had my job and responsibility reference letter written by store bookkeeper and got it approved. So, basically anybody who can confirm your employment can write a letter

Do you have that "refusal" in writing? It helps to be able to provide CIC with proof that you asked for the letter but it was refused. You can also ask your manager if s/he would be willing to speak to CIC on the phone and provide the name and contact address. If you have this, along with the letter from your WP renewal, you might have a chance. No guarantee -

Try giving a self explanatory letter along with a printout of the refusal to give reference letter with roles and responsibilities mentioned. It worked for me i.e. got rejected and then got reopened - it just might work for you.
