As some of you may know, I got a verification call on OCT 27 and verified all the work experience in the restaurant I worked. Then, I believe CHC ND called my employer also for verifying the same. During the call, my employer got all mixed up and mentioned all facts & figures randomly, as it occurred to him. So, apparently there were some inconsistencies regarding my work experience and the genuineness of this job.
CHC ND sent me this letter by post:

In support of your application for permanent residence in Canada, you submitted a work experience letter from XXXXXXX dated December 21, 2010 stating that you worked as a Restaurant Supervisor from June 15 2003 to July 31 2005 and a Restaurant Manager from August 1 2005 to July 16 2007. The signatory was the proprietor Mr.XXXXXXX. Phone verifications were made to XXXXXX and to yourself. There were inconsistencies in the information provided by the proprietor and by yourself. In your application and during the phone verification you stated that you worked for XXXXX from June 2003 to July 2007. During the phone verification the proprietor stated that you have been working at the restaurant as a restaurant manager for the last 3 to 4 years and just recently took leave. There were also inconsistencies in information provided concerning the seating capacity and number of staff. These inconsistencies lead me to believe that you did not work at XXXXX as a restaurant manager and that there is collusion.

Before a decision is made in your case, I am providing you with the opportunity to comment on the above concern or provide any observation or explanation in writing. You have thirty(30) days from the date of this letter to reply.

If you choose not to respond with additional information, or if the new information forwarded by you is not satisfactory, a decision will be made based on the information in your file.

I have just drafted a letter to send to CHC ND.

With reference to the letter sent to me dated October 3, I am writing this letter to address the concerns regarding inconsistencies in my case.

Upon learning that there were some discrepancies or I must say errors in furnishing information over the telephone by Mr. XXXXXXXX, I made a visit to the restaurant and at first discovered that there have been a lot of changes since I quit; both in terms of seating capacity and work force. Therefore, I believe that is what led to the inconsistency with regard to SEATING CAPACITY and NUMBER OF STAFF.

Secondly, upon speaking to the proprietor of XXXXXXXX, he told me that during the verification call he could not recall the time period I served for him so he randomly gave some figures, not realizing the importance and accuracy of the facts.

I assure you that there is no collusion and I indeed worked in XXXXXX for the specified period. I sincerely hope that this letter clarifies all doubts regarding the inconsistencies.

Let me know your thoughts and and if there is something in addition to this letter I should provide to clear the visa officer's doubts. Also, what are the chances of Interview/MR/Rejection

Dear Gautam,

Don't worry. Just have faith in god. Do your best.

My time line is also similar to you. I am also a February 2011 applicant and waiting for MR.

If you don't mind I want to ask you one question. Have you submitted your FORM NO. 16 with your initial application or you have submitted them after VO's request ?
Have you submitted them before the Verification call to you and your employer ?

Because one specific letter from NDVO came to me asking for FORM NO. 16s. I have submitted them. As we all know that these forms can be issued by our employers and our salary and the duration of our experience are written in these.

Our Employer name, Company name, salary, experience year by year are mentioned in this form.

So, I want to ask was it kind of a VERIFICATION regarding my job in my case ????? ??? ???

Please, give some information.

Yes Yash. Looks to me like they are trying to verify your job. Just keep everything on order and also tell your employer that s/he might rcv a call. Be in sync on all details to avoid mismatch.

Good luck

I totally agree with you. Although I do not have photographs, I can send some business communication, letters from suppliers etc. I am in Retail business.

Hi Gautam,

I have one doubt here, While sending your docs to CIC.

Didn't you submit Offer letter, Relieving letter, Roles and responsibilities(Attaching business cards of your colleagues), Latest Payslips, Form 16 etc. So that they never get any doubt regarding genuinity of your experience.

Hi Yash,

The job role for which I claimed points was performed from 2003-07. So I no longer work there. I have submitted my tax returns for the last couple of years. FORM 16 does not apply in my case as am currently a business owner.

As far as Form-16 request goes, u can't always be sure if it is VERIFICATION. Every VO has some parameters for that particular country's applicants. It could so be that it is a MUST for ND VO to prove the authenticity of the job.

only these conditions require a notification

1. wedding, divorce
2. new born baby
3. change of postal address.
4. withdrawal of application

Hello JNathan,

If a person moves to a new address where does one send the updated address to? And the person in question does not have a file number still. His application has reached CIC only in the first week of Oct 2011. Pls advice.

Thanks

Your Highness,

if your file has not yet been transferred to the local visa office, send your updated mailing address to the CIO's address that you used when you sent your application.

VO are "lakeer kay fakeer". How can they expect 100% exact infomation from an employer regarding an employee in a random-sudden-phone-call?

kan2008,

they do. they think giving info about an employee is the only thing an employer has to do in his office.
Still I guess they allow a few minutes to pull the records about an employee for giving its info to the VO. VO's believe that applicants have working experiences in offices where they have readily available employee database which can be checked in a few clicks. pretty tricky though.

My consultant told me the VO usually asks if they shld call back while the employer gathers records info abt the employees. As such calls are not quite so common the employer may seem to b in a fix and might not answer correctly. Cant blame the VO. U never know wht the emloyer wld hve said. he might hve totally confused the VO. So dont worry.. gather your things..
1. Write a detailed expereince letter.
2. Keep copy of daily attendance record. this will help in seeing the number of employees at tht time.
3. If possible gather letters frm ex collegues or busienss associates.
4. If possible ask the employer to enclose an exlanatory letter.
Mayb u can draft one and ask the employer to sign.
Good luck
