i know natsy and freedomsong thank you so much guys ^_^ i cant wait for my owp ..hopefully around September ^_^

this is just our first step guys still a long way to run till we get our pr and our family here... i wish all of wish will stick together up to the finish line ... and i am seeing that in no time this thread will have about hundred of pages hahaha ;D God bless everyone.

hi there!nope, the immigration tild me to wait until june 24(6th week from the day they "sent" my owp...so next week, i will call them again and they will send me a new copy. the bad thing is, it was in my single name!i mean, how could they make this wrong?yes, i submitted my okidoki passport because that's where all my entry/exit stamps were and my trv. but, i labelled it as old passport and attached my new passport bearing my husband's surname an. labelled it as new passport. plus in my application, the name i put on was my new last name and my old last name under the column asking for "if i have used any other name/s"...ggggrrrr! another delay in my trv application. i will have to apply for ammendment once i have it in my hand which means, a month of waiting to have it corrected under my married name. hays, life is full of challenges and unexpected moments. but overall, still grateful that 6wks waiting is soon over. Godbless us all!!!let's keep the spirit burning!!!c",)

hi natsy you sent application for trv na ??? me too i am worrying ..because on the part they asking how long do you plan to stay i put from: JANUARY 31 2014 TO MAY 21 2014 ...thats my expiration of work permit ... i am just worried if they base it on my sending off which is june 11 they might give me 6 mons single entry visa june to december.... waa im confuse.

I'm kinda worried.. My application that was received last Feb 27 doesn't have update yet. It's almost 4 months now. I also called CIC. They said, if after 4 months and my OWP isn't with me yet, I should call them back..

@kelly0920: did the agent tell you if your owp has been approved and sent yet? in my case, when i talked to them (several times each with different agent), they all told me that my owp has been approved and was sent...they also advised me to call next week so that they will issue and send a new copy to me...c",)

hi natsy oh i see yah thats right ..better settle it first atleast all your documents will have the last name of your husbands no inconsistencies ... hope you will get it soon... and thats sad hey others got their owp so fast from the mail while your took around 6 weeks now ? i will pray for you yeahhh i really hope they will do it like that .. because i only applied for single entry visa..they said they only give you 6 mons validity so i hope they will base it on the dates i gave to them not on the date they will process it because if they do that for sure they will give me validity just until for december because i passed my application june 11... so that visa will be useless so i will just pray and also i found good airfare but i cannot book because i want to wait for my visa just to make sure ..rather than rebooking my flight...

also have you heard about the strike ...officers are on strike now ...so the processing for temporary and permanent visa will experience delays.... buset...last week they are working on May 23 applicants for TRV now after a week they are only working on May 24th applicants after a week only 1 day lang naprocess nila so i hope too na sna makuha mo na un owp pra makapagsend kana ng application for TRV kasi it will take a long time now lalo na kung hindi pa sila babalik sa work ((((



Alert – Strike Action

The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.

Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.

For those who r going home on vacation, have a wonderful n restful trip, u guys deserve it! As for this strike, I hope they resolve their issues soon.
