I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has gone through a less complex file review (no hearing) and can share their timeline or experience.
Here is my situation:
Currently, my application has not been finalized yet, and I believe it may be due to background/security checks still in progress. There have been no updates for a while.
I just wanted to ask:
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
How long did it take after being marked as less complex (file review) to receive a decision?
Did your decision come suddenly without updates?
Any shared experiences would be really helpful.

Here is my situation:
- I submitted my refugee claim in October 2024
- My file was referred to IRB shortly after
- I was informed that my case is eligible for file review (less complex process) in May 2025
- I submitted all requested documents
- No hearing has been scheduled
