Leaving the US in a month. Should I apply for PCC now?

I am still awaiting final release of IELTS result and I am leaving the US in a month. Should I apply for the PCC now or wait till about 15 days to my departure? Will the fact that I applied for the PCC while in the US be a problem?

You can only apply for PCC after your date of departure from the country. If you apply now, it will not be valid.

Will you be outside US when you apply (not EE profile creation, actual PR application)?. If so your PCC should be ISSUED after you leave the US. If you are leaving US permanently or for long duration, do the following.

Get fingerprinting done in your last week. Get multiple copies to be on the safer side. Submit the eDO application online on your last day and then drop the fingerprints into mail just before you leave. Make sure your enter your foreign address in the eDO application, so that the paper report will be sent there. Electronic copy is sufficient for CIC purposes anyway.

Yes, I will be outside the USA. From what you wrote, it seem the PCC will no longer be accepted if I apply and receive it when I am still in the US.

The report issue date should be after you leave.
