Hello!
What happens if you leave the country but you're waiting for the work permit portion to be completed for an inland applicant of the HSWP?
Let's say that you leave Canada for 9 days, then attempt to return on your temporary resident visitor visa. If the border officer gives you, let's say, two weeks instead of the maximum length your visa allows, and you get your work permit within that time, what applies? Are you then allowed to stay or do you have to exit and return or potentially flag pole?
If no work permit has arrived, do you have to apply for a visa extension in order to stay?
Thank you!
