Hi

My wife currently has a conditional permanent residence status. During this time can she leave canada to visit her family overseas for about month by herself and come back?

I'm worried that this may affect her status.

Thanks

1. Yes, she can.

ok but wouldnt that violate the condition of living together? or raise any red flags?

You only have to live together (ie: share the same address), you don't need to be chained together 100% of the time. If your wife is visiting elsewhere and returns a month later that's absolutely fine. If she were to leave and take up a residency somewhere else you might start having problems then. But CIC is not trying to stop you or your wife from living your lives and taking the occasional vacation.

On return the officer will ask her where she's been, why she went, and where she lives. She'll answer their questions, and they'll let her back in. Simple as that.

My wife will land in Toronto in second week of March this year and then head back to Karachi again to spend Ramadan with her family. I am just wondering, how long (approx.) would it take to receive her Permanent Resident Card in the mail? Just based on some of the experiences from other members, do you think she will receive it before Mid of July 2016? I am returning to Pak in mid July, and i am thinking I will take her PR card with me, so we both will fly back together. Please advise! Thanks !
