Leaving and re-entering canada on the US border

Hello,
I wanted to please find out if my mom who is visiting us with a 5-year visitor's can go out of Canada at the US border at the end of her 6 months stay and re-enter Canada.

She can try - but whether she is allowed back into Canada is up to the CBSA officer she encounters at the border. They may feel she is abusing her visitor visa and attempting to live in Canada. If she wants to stay in Canada longer, she is better off applying for an extension from within Canada. Higher chance of approval than attempting a border run.
