Learning and Development Roles

I am in the UK, landing in Edmonton in May 2011. Currently I am a Learning & Development consultant, is there a similar job role/title? I design training material, deliver training, facilitate meetings etc. but I'm not sure what this would be called in Canada...any ideas??

I work for an HR consulting firm in Canada, although in a different area and L&D is still a title/term that is used. Sometimes I also hear: Corporate Trainer, or Instructional Designer.

I would go onto sites like www.eluta.ca, and www.indeed.ca and use the keyword search box to see what other types of positions and titles come up. Don't focus so much on your current title, but use keywords from your ahievements/accomplishments.

Thank you so much, that's exactly the sort of answer I was looking for. I tried 'trainer' and 'training' but the jobs weren't the sort of thing I do or have done previously

All of the big Canadian banks have L&D teams (some are called "L&D" - some fall under different names). These teams are typically found in the HR department (i.e. Human Resources). So you may also want to try searching for roles under Human Resources. Good luck!
