Hi All,

Have a quick question. Just got PPR and will be getting my visa in Buffalo and flying back to Canada. I am working on my list of items to declare, but on this trip I am traveling with a laptop and iPad which belong to my partner, and were purchased in Canada, though I don't have any receipts on this.

Will the customs agents give me trouble or believe me that these are borrowed and owned by a Canadian? Or does it not even matter?

Also, I have a 4-year old watch which was originally worth about $4500 (a gift from a former job) and a diamond ring that belonged to my grandmother, that I don't know the value but could be $1-3K. Will I be taxed on these?

Thanks!

okay, further research is telling me that you won't be taxed on jewelry or antiques. i hope that's true!

No, if asked, you need a valuation report with photograph for your jewelry.
