Me and and whole family are going to fly to Canada in about 2 months, we have applied for the city of Montreal, but I was wondering if it is necessary to first land in the city which was applied for (in my case, Montreal) or we can land anywhere in Canada?

Did you apply for PR through the Quebec skilled worker program?

You can certainly land in a different city in Canada, however you must have an on-ward ticket to the province of Quebec since you have been accepted through their immigration program and it's expected that you'll settle there. If the immigration officer thinks you have plans to settle in a different province immediately then you could be refused landing.

I don't think so because we had a plan of staying there permanently and not because of a Job or a post.
