Hi guys,

I applied my PR application through PNP. I was just recently approved and me and my family members' passport are in the process of VISA stamping in CIC VISA office in Manila. I am currently living here in Canada with a valid work permit until 2013.

I have learned that approved PR applicants who are in Canada have their option to do the landing "inside Canada" in a local CIC office by calling 1-888-242-2100 for appointment. I called the number but can't seem to connect to a recorded voice pertaining to that "inquiry". I selected talk to an agent but it's VERY DIFFICULT to connect.

I want to have my landing done and have my COPR be signed immediately as a requirement in changing SIN card (temporary to permanent) because I'm planning to apply for a LOAN and banks will not process my application without the "permanent resident" SIN number/card. If I can not get a loan, then I can not buy flight tickets for my family back home.

I would to ask you guys who have done the landing in Canada local CIC office to share their experiences.

I would greatly appreciate your immediate response. Thank you in advance.

just walk in cic local office and ask them to let you land without appointment because you have some special reasons. your chance will be higher if you deal with less busy offices, but you must land at the nearest office to your place of residence. check the topic 'medical received' by sinpguy page 126 to see my landing experience in calgary.
