Hi there,

I have a friend who received his work permit as a physician in a hospital in Moncton, NB.

He plans to travel to Moncton from Germany with the following flight: Frankfurt - Montreal - Moncton. His layover in Montreal is relatively short: 2 hours.

1- Will he have to stamp anything or go through immigration in Montreal or will that only take place in Moncton, which is his final destination?

2- With regards to hotel quarantines will he have to quarantine in Montreal? Or can he have his full quarantine in Moncton?

Thanks for the support!

Montreal is his Port of Entry so everthing done in Montreal prior to leaving the immigration area. He quarantines in Montreal for 3 days at a hotel. Then he travels to Moncton and quarantines for another 14 days.

Now being a physician, he may not have to quarantine as an essential worker but he needs to confirm that. He can’t work with people over a certain age.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated!

He will have the documents from the hospital and medical board in NB so I guess that is something he will have to verify with the hospital.

Either way, it seems his connecting flight to NB (which again is short in terms of layover) is pointless as he will have to reschedule.

Thanks!
