There is no link saying it's allowed and no link saying it's not allowed. However, federal skilled worker is for persons who plan to live outside Quebec so it is only an issue if you try to land in Quebec. Anywhere else is not a problem. If you don't believe this and you are worried about it, contact your visa office or Canadian embassy and ask for advice.

Does anyone have experience landing in Montreal with FSW COPR during transit using the Qatar Airways flight Doha-Montreal-Toronto?

What exactly interests you?
You will pass your landing procedures in Montreal. Please allow for sufficient connection because Montreal is a busy point of entry and there are always queues there.

i had wished to provide you with a link that answers your query, unfortunately CIC website does not mention much about this point also doesn't have enough details about landing...

i guess that's why we have this forum...

I know the landing has to happen in Montreal as the Montreal-Toronto flight will be domestic. I am looking for someone's personal experience on this sector (the flight, experience they had with immigration, customs, services Canada, etc. and especially if anyone had issues convincing the immigration officer their final destination is not Quebec).

Regards,

Hello, this forum is really very helpful thanks to all who participate in this forum..
I would really appreciate if someone can answer my queries -
I have applied for PR within Canada but recently moved to US and have informed CIC about this change so I will be receiving my visa docs (CoRP) in US mailing address
as per my understanding if i do landing now then i have to wait for PR card so that i can travel again which will take around 73 calender days (per site) but I can't wait that long.i have fplans to goto India very soon.So is it ok if I do landing directly from India though i was residing in US? also if someone can share their landing experience from India (like process or docs required) that will be of great help?

When you say landing directly from India, you mean take a flight from India to Canada, without passing through the US? Then the answer is yes, there is no check (and certainly no restriction) on which country you are entering from to do your landing, as long as you have the visa sticker in your passport and COPR document in your hand at any international airport in Canada.

The landing process is the same regardless of which country you are coming from if you are an FSW. This link has a compilation of different people's landing experience, it will give you an idea of what to expect: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/compilation-of-landing-experiences-t164507.0.html

I found the discussion thread & copied the mentioned number below:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/worriedpr-card-not-yet-receive-t155883.0.html;msg2410199#msg2410199

To contact CIC from outside Canada can try the same process.
It's as below...

1. Dial 1-613-944-4000
2. It' will say something about foreign Trade. Wait for the message to complete
3. Then it'll will give you the menu options
4. Press "2" for "Immigration or Citizenship or obtaining visas to Canada"
5. Then it' will redirect the call to Immigration department
6. A music will be played until someone picks up your call

I guess you can now enquire and find out what happened to your card....let us know how it went. I assume they will also verify your identity when you call them...so better to have your passport (visa) and COPR handy with you when you call.

Hi everybody;

I applied for FSW1 in 2011, I was PhD student in Alberta, I finished my PhD, and now I am working full-time as a Postdoctoral research fellow in Quebec. My application is still in process and CIC asked me to update some new forms.

In one of the forms, it asks " where do you intend to live in Canada?". Well, in 2011, I put "Alberta" and now I am in Quebec. I am confused and worried about the answer to this question. The contract for my current job is until 2015 here in Quebec. If I put my intended place as Alberta, it is in conflict with my current job located in Quebec and if I put it as Quebec, it is in conflict with FSW application and they may reject my application by saying why I didn't apply in Quebec Skilled Worker program. It may also cause a conflict regarding the port of entry when I am going to land with landing visa.

Could you please help me on this. Thank you very much in advance for your consideration.
