Just a query. Anybody can answer and would appreciate anyone's inputs.

We landed November last year but had to come back to our country to finish our employment contract. Question is, do we have to file for income tax in Canada now for our earnings overseas or are we still exempted from this? If not, is there a legal way to go around the system for us not to pay as yet ?

Thank you in advance for the answers.

You don't have to file tax in Canada if you are not living in Canada unless you have some ties that could make you a resident for tax purposes such has keeping another home in Canada or having left your wife and children in Canada while you are elsewhere but I assume that is not the case here.

Good to know. Much thanks, Leon.
