Have everyone, i just went on my Ecas and it is saying medical received again. What I wanted is that if your medical has experienced what does it mean. My medical have experienced on March 1. Do you think they will extend the date or ask me to redo the medical. I hope this is not another glitch in the system.

I didn't received any email from Ecas. I am praying Kingston will pick up the pace. Enjoy your day. I have a Taxation examination at 6:30. Take care everyone.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

sending out the good vibes for you Charmaine!! Im sure any day now!!!!
medical expire in one year? and police checks one year too? or six months?

Irving my says the same thing as yours. I am just hoping that this is not another system glitch like the last time.

Iambless...I hope for your sake that they will be request PP not asking for a Redo because that would be terrible if they waited until the medical to expire and now start work on the file again....I mean its just a matter of days!!!!

Ladyposh I'm hoping the same too. Another thing I would like to know like how I am in Canada could Fedex my passport or would I have to bring it myself.

Iambless....you are in Canada??? How is that possible? Are you applying for your spouse or is your sposue applying for you?

My spouse is the sponsor, I came on a visitor's visa, then I had it extended

Yikes that is a tough one...I think that you have to get it to them as soon as they ask for it or it may hold up the process. I think you have to be on the Island and leave from there to here so you can do the landing thing at Pearson Intl.

iambless: unfortunately if the medicals are expired, they won't even consider requesting the passport, never mind issuing the visa, unless it was an extreme condition brought about by their error (i've heard of them issuing visas that were somehow not mailed out in time and those ones extended, but that's when the passport was already requested before the medical expired and held for an abnormal amount of time... if for instance, ramdont hubby's visa came back expired, they'd have a good reason to cry foul and ask for an extension (they've held the ppt for over 2 months now with is well out of SOP)...

keep a look out for the redo forms and get the DMP number on speed dial... apparently kingston is giving some issue if the redo medical isn't done at the kingston DMP (read back about 2 weeks or so, you'll see the drama they gave someone, over what has to be nonsense or a misunderstanding somewhere... any DMP SHOULD be valid, but i don't know what to tell you... i'd make to ask and double ask if there's a preferred one in Canada you can use... it would suck to have to go all the way back to jamrock to get a physical!

ladyposh... lots of people arrive from student or valid visitor visas, and apply outland from canada... if there was an interview (or maybe even something as minor as a medical redo?), they'd have to return to their home country (jamaica) to proceed... but it's usually faster than applying inland... and you can appeal... it's the prefered way to do things for those who can come and go from canada easily...

hey to everyone else... i've been sleep deprived and overworked this weekend... need a vacation!

I think its 6 months for medical

medicals are 1year validty the visa will be issued to expire on the day of the medicals (or ppt if that comes first i believe)...

iambless... when you get the ppt call, ask them how they issue it overseas, they'll probably tell you to send via dhl with return envelope included... alternately you can fedex to someone (with notorized consent) to drop off/pick up for you... if jamaica decides they won't ship out of the country AND issue your visa to you in proxy, you'll have to ship to someone who can do the dhl shipping from in country and have them ship it back to you when it arrives... considering it's jamaica, expect this to get screwed up a little and do pay for the highest possible shipping to help it along a little! ugh!

ladyposh... when iambless gets the visa (however that happens) she (i think you're female!?) can go to the nearest border and "flagpole", meaning she says she doesn't want to enter the US, just return and "land" in canada... apparently it happens all the time and is a simple procedure... they just turn you around with a "did not enter form" and you go to the Canadian immigration... saves having to leave the country and return via air...

Thanks Chelley, I did my medical here in Canada. I'm wondering if I could go back to the same DMP to get the redo medical. Where can I get information concerning which is better on getting the redo done,, in Kingston or Canada at the same DMP.

technically a DMP is a DMP and there shouldn't be a prefered one...but i read the other day that someone said their hubby's medical was refused since it wasn't done by the "recommended DMP in Kingston"... I'm think there must have been some sort of miscommunication along the way, because that's so far beyond the way they should be running things, but sometimes kingston makes their own rules up and until someone who has more power than they do can put them back in their place, it's best to just abide by them to make your process not drag on longer than it already has! mind you i think it's ridiculous if you have to travel 2000 miles for a doctor's appt that you're paying 300CAD for! i'd say when you get the form, call the call centre and ask, and document who you spoke to, when and all that... so that if and when it comes to it, you'll have some evidence of reaching out to find out if it was okay to go anywhere (which i'm very confident they will tell you any DMP is fine)... afterall, you know you can't contact Kingston directly via phone, and they're VERY responsive to emails and faxes, right?! lol

Wow Chelley thanks for your explanation of these things...you seem to know abit about the process....that is why I love this forum....I have learned so much on here.

Can someone tell me something....KGN closes at 1pm on Fridays does that mean for the public or in general? I am asking because I was hoping they are still in office and there is a chance that they may still make some calls out before the weekend.

I am praying that my new update is not a glitch this time...... :D

i'm not sure about the fridays... i think they work a "full" day (whatever that might be :) ), but maybe the consolate services (to citizens) is only open until 1pm? i know the immigration part is closed fridays to the public...
