hi good morning,
I'm up trying to complete my application. I stuuuucccckeeed at #14:- was there a formal ceremony to recognize/celebrate the engagement?
the thing is, he proposed when we were staying at an hotel on Christmas day. so it was only the two of us. we went for the dinner the same night at a restaurant at the hotel.
Besides, most ja'can dont really celebrate this tye of event. so thats the only celebration we had.... so how do we go about answering this question.
please I really need your help.
Thanks in advance.

the answer would be no. Then provide details letting them know that it's not a part of the Jamaican culture. And describe setting]

I just answered No we couldn't afford one and left it at that lol there's really no need to get into a long explanation unless that's what you really want to do.

I wouldn't sweat that question just say no they are aware that its not really in our Jamaican culture to have engagement parties and so forth..... but if y'all had dinner with the family in honor of the engagement or did something with your loved ones to kind of celebrate the engagement then yes answer yes. In my case I had answered yes because I had a bridal shower before we got married.

Update: So on Friday August 19th, i emailed (using Hubby's email of course) Kingston the letter and payment receipt for the RPRF, they sent me an email today stating "The RPRF receipt has been attached to your file and funds allocated. The application is now queued for review. Once the review has taken place, if any further documentation or information is required before a decision can be made on the application, our office will contact you directly".

I had also emailed them for an extension on the medical and they extended it until July 25, 2017. ;D :D

So I have two questions....

1. When emailing the KVO I typically use the online Web for on cic website. Do you guys uses a direct email address if yes, what is it?

2. I'm preparing to request notes on our application and we are writing up the consent to access information form.... who's information goes in section C?....applicants?

For correspondence to CIC the web form is recommend. The email address is a general email unless they email you and ask that you specifically email documents continue to us webform.

Curious if anyone knows the answer to this random question. My love and I have our wedding next month, and have asked for money as gifts to help with my constant travel fee's and upcoming application costs, as well as just general savings for when he reaches Canada (fingers crossed). My question is about joint accounts. Do any of you have a Canadian joint account set-up with hubby or wife in Jamaica? Or even one in Jamaica? I just wonder if its possible to set-up if he isn't physically in Canada...

Also- am so confused with the wait-times now that they've changed the inputs. What is the estimate with me in Canada and him in Jamaica? Is is faster if we're both in Jamaica?
