Hi everyone... Its been a while since the last time I came online.

I have a question. does anyone know how to go about sponsoring a child who's name is not on my landing paper??? i didn't add the child's name on my application at the time of my filing because i wasn't sure if the child is my biological child but now everyone is saying the child looks like me. to be honest the child really does look like me so now i am wondering how to go about sponsoring the child.

If his name wasn't listed at the time you did your application I'm pretty sure you can't apply to sponsor him now, a DNA test should have been done before if you had doubts.

Impatientwife is correct. If you didn't include the child on the application you essentially waive all future sponsorship rights and it could also be considered misrepresentation. Be careful going forth because you may get yourself into hot water trying to explain why you didn't provide this info upfront

Yes this is misrepresentation and your PR status would be revoked if the CIC found out you didn't add a dependent to the application.

Ive finally found everyone. sigh.

I'm in the process (i think), of sponsoring my husband. I sent in our applications July 18 2016 and received confirmation from CIC last Friday.

I can't believe this takes years. I realize I'm in the beginning stages of my actual application, its only taken us 2 years to get life sorted out to apply.

I'm glad to get the chance to speak with others that understand what life really is like being a single parent but not really single as your married however there are political reasons why you can't live as a family and finally start working toward building a life TOGETHER.

It's comforting knowing however that the SCC has made some really big precedent cases in the last year regarding Immigration and children involved.

Fingers crossed that our application was complete and there wont be any further delay.

Welcome! The fact that CIC acknowledged your application and didn't send it back is a good indication that it is complete. There are lots of great members on here that can help you out. Good luck!

I bought a ticket last year for Christmas in October and it was only $850 both ways through Air Transat at Pearson.

There's an app called Hopper and it shows flight predictions for pricing with all the airlines. It's what I use before I buy a ticket.

That's a great price. i usually use Kayak and I find that Saturday and Wednesday are the best days to purchase. I'll try Hopper though, I am curious

Hi everyone

I have been reading this thread for over a year now. Thank you for all your advice in here to help with my application. On Friday I finally sent my application off. Now it is the waiting game. It is great to have a group like this that gives encouragement to each other during the process. I can't wait for my husband is able to come here and start our life together. Good luck to the ones that have interviews coming up.
